North Carolina – Asheville

by Russ Anderson on May 11, 2014

Closer to home, here are some of the restaurants we like in Asheville:

Bull and the Beggar – gastro pub, various items, good oysters, in the river arts district. drew ran The Admiral and opened this. (37 Paynes Way, 828.575.9443 – near Wedge Brewery)

Cucina 24 – a favorite Italian place, homemade burrata, wood fired pizza and crisp Italian fare.

Chai Pani does nice Indian food, get the more Indian food and not the fusion it’s though

Bouchon is definitely on our list, French food and owner, recommended by friends with a home in France but we haven’t been yet.

Limones has a nice margarita and MexiCali food

The Admiral was a fave but we think it slipped and we go to Bull and the Beggar now, but people still talk well about them.

Curate – this is the hot Spanish tapas place in Asheville, nice dishes and a good wine list (if a little pricey).

Biscuit Head (

Farm and Sparrow Bakery (828.633.0584)

Flat Rock Bakery – Inside the Wrinkled Egg, 2710 Greenville Highway, Flat Rock, NC 28731  (828.693.1313) – Wood fired Pizza

The Junction (Brunch) – rec by Curate – (348 Depot Street, 828.225.3497)
